Gain Professional Experience in an International Business Environment

 

SGC regularly offers six-month internships, with intakes typically starting in spring and autumn. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic international business environment.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from students in the following fields:

  • Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, Communications, Geography, Sociology, or other relevant disciplines
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree students
  • Please note: We do not offer legal internships (Rechtsreferendariat). Students seeking legal internships may refer to our member listing for German law firms in Singapore.

Internship Responsibilities

Interns support business and administrative functions across various departments. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with business matchmaking and meetings between German and Singaporean companies
  • Following up with companies on future collaborations and meetings
  • Conducting market research on German and Singaporean companies, industries, and economic data
  • Supporting webinars and online meetings for key projects
  • Providing administrative support for events such as breakfast briefings, luncheons, networking sessions, and other live events
  • Updating databases in CRM
  • Writing for SGC publications
  • Translating documents for events, information brochures, webinars, and meetings
  • Handling reception duties, including welcoming visitors, managing the main phone line, and responding to general enquiries
  • Assisting in the organisation of business delegations from Germany and Singapore
  • Performing ad hoc tasks as required

Renumeration

Interns receive a monthly stipend of S$1,900 (net), applicable only to students enrolled in the following countries: Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Accommodation

Interns are responsible for securing their own accommodation. It is advisable to arrange housing before arriving in Singapore.

Eligibility for the Work Holiday Pass (WHP)

The Work Holiday Pass (WHP) allows interns to stay and work in Singapore for up to six months. Once an internship is confirmed by SGC, the applicant must apply for the WHP through the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Singapore.
