R&D committee with guests from EXPLOIT Technologies
Dr Kim Shin Cheul (c.), Sen VP Material, Chemical & Electronics, Science & Engineering Commercialisation Division and Ms Seeto Wei Peng (c.), VP Corporate Marketing & Communications, Exploit Technologies gave an overview about the agency. 

Financial Management Committee on Financial Shared Service Centre
Mr Christoph Schipper, Tüv Süd ASPAC and Mr Jarrod Magill, KPMG spoke about the benefits of implementing a financial shared service centre. Mr Schipper shared his experience from a company's point of view while Mr Magill spoke from the preparation's point of view. 

IT Committee discussed Cloud computing
IT Committee Chairperson Frank Reppel (standing) giving an introduction about the topic on Cloud computing and about the invited speakers during the committee's meeting. Invited speakers were Uwe Schlager, CEO T-Systems Singapore and Martin Yates, Chairman SIG Cloud computing and Enterprise Virtualization, Singapore Computer Society. 

Environmental Engineering Commitee visits REC
Members of the Environmental Engineering Committee visited REC site at Tuas. They got a briefing from Mr Ian Smith (topmost pic, l) of REC prior to visiting the manufacturing plant.

The Environmental Engineering Committee members got an update from Dr Gensler, Siemens about Siemen's 'City of the Future'. Also, Mr Inglin briefed members about the upcoming visit to REC. 

Healthcare Committee visits Tüv Süd's testing lab
Members of the committee visited the testing laboratory of Tüv Süd at the Science Park. Before the tour, speakers Mr Paul Tan, Chairperson of the committee and Ms Li Yang informed participants about the company's history and development and its testing capabilities.


R&D Committee with guest from NRF
Mr Afian Anwar (c.), Senior Officer Planning and Policy Department, NRF spoke to the committee about the programs and funding schemes of the National Research Foundation (NRF). 

Healthcare Committee organized GDPMDS Seminar @ Biopolis
Mr Paul Tan (3rd row pics, l.), Chairperson of the Healthcare Committee stressing a point to participants during the seminar. The whole day event informed participants about the new regulation on distribution of medical devices in Singapore that takes effect on 1 May 2010. Speakers of the seminar were, Ms Li Yang (1st row, l.), Tüv Süd PSB Pte Ltd, Ms Jocelyn delos Reyes (middle row, c.), Tüv Rheinland Singapore Pte Ltd and Mr James Wong (3rd row, r.), Tüv Süd PSB Pte Ltd. 

Financial Management Committee on Singapore Budget 2010
The committee invited Mr Mathias Mueller, Roedl and Partner and Mr Chui Wu Hong, KMPG Partner. Mr Mueller spoke about the changes in the Singapore Budget 2010 while Mr Chui spoke on how German companies can benefit from the R&D Tax inventive scheme. 

Healthcare Committee visits new data centre at IBP
The committee visited the Data Centre of JDD at the International Business Park. 

Environmental Engineering Committee Meeting
The committee led by Mr Willi Hess, Chairperson of the committee (c.) continued its discussion on plan of activities for 2010. It was agreed in this meeting that the committee will have a site visit to REC.


R&D Committee Meeting
Dr Rudolf Gensler of Siemens spoke of the R&D activities of Siemens in Singapore. Mr Timothy Sebastian, Deputy Director A*STAR Graduate Academy informed participants on A*STAR's Scholarship-programmes. 

Environmental Engineering Committee Meeting
The committee had its regular meeting on 25 January 2010 at the ThyssenKrupp office. During this meeting, committee members discussed plan of activities for 2010. 

Financial Management Committee on FTA
The Financial Management Committee kicked off its first meeting for 2010 with a discussion on the topic of free trade agreement. The meeting took place at the Mercedes Benz Centre on 22 January 2010. Invited speaker was Mr Ed Sim, Head of Appleton Luff's Asia. He spoke on the “Update and outlook on Free Trade agreements (FTA's) in Asia - customs as an area to realize cost saving potential” 

Healthcare Committee Meeting
The Healthcare Committee held its regular meeting on 18 January 2010. This was its first meeting for this year and had as invited speaker Dr Margam Chandrasekaran (c. rightmost), Chief Scientist Bio Scaffold International Pte Ltd. He spoke on the topic "Bioscaff Alvelac a Novel Solution to Ridge Preservation".
