The Singaporean-German Chamber (SGC) and the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology presented Energy Efficiency Info Day on 4 March at IHK Frankfurt
Germany has taken a leading position in the area of energy efficiency amongst the international competition and Singapore is a fast-growing economy that is increasingly emphasizing holistic energy efficiency efforts. In order to explore the opportunities in Singapore, the SGC and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology organized the Energy Efficiency Info Day as part of the "Exportinitiative Energieeffizienz” in IHK Frankfurt am Main.
The event was well-attended by almost 30 German-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) representing various products, systems and services in the field of energy efficiency to introduce to Singapore’s market.
The diverse program of this full-day event allowed the audience to receive a detailed overview of the status and the potentials for the industry in Singapore. German industry players reported on their experience in the Singaporean market, while representatives of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore and the Singapore Economic Development Board provided information on existing incentive programs and the development of the industry sector among other topics.
The event was very successful and SGC has received very positive feedback from the participants. Based on the outcome of the Info Day several attendees have already confirmed to make use of yet another opportunity to start or intensify activities in the Singaporean market. With support of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology the Singaporean-German Chamber is currently preparing the visit of an Energy Efficiency Delegation from Germany to Singapore. Highlight of the visiting program will be the full-day Energy Efficiency Symposium on 16 June 2009 in Singapore.
