German-ASEAN Business Council
Quarterly Newsletter – December 2017

Dear readers,

The Association of Southeast Asian Nation (ASEAN) has become a vibrant economic region in South East Asia. With its rapid economic growth, growing consumer demand, diverse markets and many economic integration initiatives, ASEAN has increasingly become attractive for German businesses. Therefore, there was the need to strengthen the dialogue and exchange platform between the ASEAN member states and Germany as well as between German industry actors in the region. To do so, the seven German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in ASEAN established the German-ASEAN Business Council (GABC) in 2012. Since its commencements, GABC has become an important platform for stakeholder to interact, exchange views, shape discourse and respond the regional challenges, developments and trends.

In our quarterly ASEAN newsletter, we would like to inform you about current activities, recent commitments and trends of the German-ASEAN Business Council. You are welcome to participate in any of the mentioned events and to get involved in any of the addressed topics. Please inform your respective bilateral-German Chamber or delegation office to arrange your participation. This is your opportunity to become a part of our mission to strengthen regional cooperation, support trade and promote investments within the entire ASEAN region.

Best regards,

Your German-ASEAN Business Council
