Breakfast Briefing on Product Liability in Asia Pacific
Dr Paul Weingarten (c.), Rödl & Partner spoke on the the product liability issue in Asia Pacific. He advised attendees to be informed thoroughly as to what insurances they obtain for them to be insured especially when litigations arise. 

Luncheon with Federal Minister for Education and Research Dr Annette Schavan
Minister Schavan stressed the importance of excellent education and research to the ensuring of wealth and prosperity of the German society. She mentioned three measures that is being undertaken by the government that is pointing at the right direction: the Higher Eduction pact, Initiative for Excellence and the Joint Initiative for Research and Innovation. 

12th Asia-Pacific Conference (APK) 2010, 13-15 May
More than 750 registered delegates attended the 12th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business in Singapore between 13th to 15th May 2010. The event was a great success. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.

Mr A Selvadurai Hallman, Managing Director of Hutchison Consulting Pte Ltd, informed participants about the opportunities and challenges of investing in India.


GDPMDS Seminar @ Biopolis
SGC Deputy General Manager Ms Margit Kunz (c. pic standing) delivering her opening remarks during the seminar on Good Distribution Practices of Medical Devices in Singapore at the Biopolis. This event was organized by the SGC and the Healthcare Committee. Participants were informed by expert speakers on the subject matter about this new regulation in Singapore which will take full effect on 1 May 2010.

Insurance workshop for German expatriates
Mr Sven Janssen, General Manger Hofmann Versicherungs GmbH informed participants about the different insurances for Germans living and working in Singapore and that at best they would have to decide on their very individual needs before they decide on specific insurances. 

B2B Black
SGC and German Centre saw another B2B Black on 25 March. The event was sponsored by LBBW and was accompanied by a live jazz band. Everyone enjoyed the evening. 

Breakfast Briefing on Branding in Asia
Jörg Dietzel, brand consultant for J. Dietzel Brand Consultants and university lecturer highlighted the connection between the concept of face to branding and underlined importance of branding to ones product in a SGC breakfast briefing. 

Breakfast Briefing on Singapore Budget 2010
Mr Choo Eng Chuan (c.), Partner, International and Corporate Tax Services, Ernst & Young Solutions LLP, highlighted several of the new tax deduction possibilities such as the Productivity and Innovation Credit Scheme, the M&A Allowance and the Promotion of the Financial Sector. 

SGC Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2010
The SGC Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2010 was held on 15 March 2010 at the Raffles Hotel Singapore. SGC Members elected new Board Members and reelected Mr Dirk Eilers (mid row, c.), Chief Executive Officer TÜV SÜD Product Service, as President of SGC for 2010. During the meeting, Dr Tim Philippi, Executive Director SGC (mid row, l.) encouraged members to take part in the APK 2010 to be held on 13-15 May 2010 in Singapore. 

Luncheon with Mr Roland Koch, Minister-President of the Federal State of Hesse, Germany
Minister-President Koch (middle row pic, c.) gave comprehensive information on the economic status of the Federal State of Hesse in a luncheon organized by the SGC. He told participants that the Federal State of Hesse is a center of Research and Development both in Germany and in Europe. The luncheon was attended by over 200 guests that took place at the Conrad Centennial Hotel Singapore. 

B2B
The 25 February B2B was a unique B2B because it had a special guest: H.E Mr Jacky Foo Kong Seng (top pic, c., r.), Singapore Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. The Ambassador prior to his attending the B2B had a visit at the SGC Office where he met with Dr Philippi, SGC Executive Director. 

Luncheon with H.E Ambassador Joerg Ranau
H.E Mr Jörg Ranau (topmost pic, c., r.), German Ambassador to Singapore addressed the SGC Members on “Germany and Europe, the significance in Asia” in a SGC Luncheon. In Ambassador Ranau’s speech, he stressed that Europe is connected with Asia in 3 areas: political, economic and socio-cultural aspects.

Mr Günther Witt, Managing Director & Trainer, Attitude & Skills Pte Ltd was the invited speaker for the breakfast briefing on the topic of Value & Behavioral Assessment.
